Fiscal year 2013-2014 marks the birth of our District 308B2 own Lions Leadership Institute (“LLI”) which we have planned for years. I am very glad it finally came through after the delegates approved the resolution at the 16th District Convention in Singapore.

LLI is a Board consisting of an independent committee, like its counterpart Continuous Leo Development (“CLD”) Board, focus on improvement on Leadership training program in our District. Part of the functions is to update training materials for and improve training skills of the trainers and facilitators. It is also to keep records of trainings conducted

Some may have misconception that LLI may interfere with District Administration of GLT structure. In fact, it is there to assist and not otherwise. I would like to compliment to first Chairman of LLI Board, PDG Lee Boon Hoe, for having the foresight of setting up a website for LLI as an information center for matters pertaining to Training.

I believe this website in particular and LLI in general shall bring great value to our District in term of training program. I wish to quote the lyrics of the song “Strengthen the Pride” by Immediate Past International President Joe Preston – “Strengthen the Pride through Investing, in training others to Lead”.

I wish LLI of our District a great success in many years to come.

Lion Ooi Chao Syhuan PMJF, DF
Immediate Past District Governor
